Calgary’s Transmission Business Unit (“TBU”) is searching for a Sr Engineer or Technologist Automation to join the team. The successful candidate will be able to provide controls design support to multidisciplinary teams on maintenance and projects, identify and track scope changes made to the control system through the MOC process, software version and server computer management.
This position can be located in one the following locations:
Canadian Locations: Calgary, Grande Prairie, Sherwood Park, AB and Regina SK.
US Locations: Jamestown ND, Charles City IA, Channahon IL, and Minot ND.

Steward maintenance on existing controls systems;

Initiate and coordinate improvement projects to pipeline control systems;

Provide process control support for day-to-day pipeline operations;

Represent operations interest in all facets of the above for new projects, commissioning and start up;

Work with EPC firms and participate during project meetings, HAZOP’s and ensure Pembina’s standards are maintained;

Work with other Automation Advisors and Specialists across the business unit to ensure consistency regarding automation, controls, SCADA, IT, and OT;

Work on the existing control systems to achieve a reduction in unnecessary and nuisance alarms;

Overall support and maintenance of the entire control PLC system;

Able to prepare human-hour estimates and capital costs for small to medium size control system projects;

Participate in project planning and execution;

Actively identify scope and manage MOC processes and variances;

Pre-Commission systems and perform FAT/SAT's;

Provide commissioning support;

Develop and adopt standards where required; and
-
Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Process control engineering specialization with a chemical or electrical engineering degree/diploma or electrical or instrumentation journeyman is highly desired;

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Controls with a complete understanding of the engineering documents associated with controls such as: P&ID's, loop sheets, panel layouts, control narratives, and logic diagrams;

Proficient in programming control systems (PLC). Communications experience is an asset; and

An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
The successful candidate must live within 100 km of the district locations of Pembina.
Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
