THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant to provide accounting and administrative support to their finance team in Burlington, ON.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or bookkeeping professional with 1–2 years of experience who is comfortable with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and day-to-day financial administration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Staff Accountant to ensure financial transactions and records are processed accurately and efficiently.
This is a temporary full-time opportunity for a minimum of 1–2 months, with the potential for an extension depending on business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
- Record E-transfer, PayPal, and Square deposits
- Generate sales receipts and tax receipts
- Record weekly transactions received through CanadaHelps and Stripe
- Complete monthly financial reporting and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Process monthly mortgage, promissory note, and loan receivable payments
- Track and reconcile Ministry Fund payments
- Assist with year-end financial audits
- Assist with audit preparation and reporting for CAMA Woodlands
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Provide general accounting, clerical, and administrative support
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or equivalent experience
- 1–2 years of administrative, bookkeeping, or accounting experience
- Previous Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience within a non-profit environment is considered an asset
- Familiarity with QuickBooks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a broader finance team
