The Data Analyst performs essential functions for a continuously improving the country health and safety program by performing statistical analysis while overseeing, maintaining and improving health and safety programs and systems.
Collects and analyzes data used for compiling company safety statistics and trends.
Maintains reports as required for internal reporting.
Provide technical support in the development and maintenance of all H&S program software and databases.
Assists to prepare required reports and presentations on injuries and illnesses and review safe work procedures, policies, and training courses.
Oversees reporting within the internal health and safety reporting system (SAI) by validating entries by others, data entry of information from other systems (SAP), and following up to ensure activity completions.
Provides technical support for users of our internal health and safety reporting system including troubleshooting errors, escalation of issues, and rollout of new initiatives.
Organizes and maintains the digital filing system for Health and Safety documents including version control, publishing, formatting and classification of documents.
Creates requisitions and ensures timely review and processing of invoices within SAP.
Creates country health and safety communications including daily incident summaries.
Works closely with the Health and Safety team on new initiatives and supports other health and safety systems as required.
Education & Work Experience
2+ years experience in an analyst position
Post secondary degree in mathematics, statistics, business, economics, health and safety, is an asset
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Google Workspace (i.e. Mail / Sheets / Shared Drive management / LumApps intranet)
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. This includes a working knowledge of Visual Basic Programming
Digital programming expertise is an asset, overseeing internal website development
Experience with SAP or comparable enterprise resource planning system
Ability to simplify complex data and problems for senior management
Experience in Adobe software such as Photoshop, and Acrobat software
Self-motivated, strong work ethic and ability to take initiative
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced environment
