What is the opportunity?
The Capital Markets Client Intelligence is an internal team that works closely with all businesses across RBC Capital Markets to provide client and prospective-client intelligence and decision support for business management, business strategy teams and senior executives. The team focuses on strategic solutions that meet business and reporting needs, with a shared goal of better servicing clients across the firm.
As an Associate you will primarily support the reporting and analytics of client relationships using internal and external client data, while partnering with stakeholders to drive holistic and consistent view of client profitability across RBCCM.
What will you do?
Support reporting and analytics of client relationships using internal and external client data, while partnering with stakeholders to drive holistic and consistent view of client profitability across RBCCM
Enhance effectiveness of CM-wide client planning through integration of data from various LOB planning processes, while improving transparency and discipline around analytics and effectiveness of gap to plan/forecast
Prepare materials in advance of senior management Internal account review summarizing internal performance and highlighting opportunities to increase revenues
Solidify an iterative ‘feedback loop’ from the client review process to the client planning/forecast process
Provide value to the business by identifying opportunities to increase revenues and client rankings, and potential cross sell and prospective client opportunities
Partner with others to reinforce a collaborative team dynamic and drive global initiatives, projects and ad hoc analytics to completion
Execute data validation (reconciliation and testing) and data mitigation/integration projects to support data integrity & completeness, which support management in making the right business decisions
Automate existing manual processes, drive change management to improve processes, accuracy of reporting, and efficiencies
Liaise with technology to enhance analytics; escalate and communicate data integrity issues to business, technology and data reference teams
Partner with technology to drive solutions and standardize the analytics suite across all client reviews and self-service model across, while further enhancing the Relationship Management toolkit
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor’s degree with focus in Finance, Accounting or other quantitative fields
At least 5 years of experience working within the Financial Services with exposure to Capital Markets
Knowledge of Capital Markets products (Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets) and clients segments (Corporates, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers, Insurance, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to organize large amounts of data and effectively present metrics and analysis to help drive strategic decisions
Strong Data Analysis skills coupled with Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts & graphs) skills
Strong team player
Strong written & verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate knowing what, when, and to whom to communicate
Strong influencing skills; ability to build relationships with key internal stakeholders and partners to collaboratively drive cross-function and cross-asset initiatives
Proficient in Microsoft Office with advance proficiency in Excel
