The Administrative Coordinator will exercise judgment and independence to provide complex administrative support services in the Division of Medical Oncology & Hematology including, but not limited to: coordinating and maintaining written and/or electronic calendar/schedules; facilitating coordination of staff recruitment, appointments and promotions; utilizing advanced functions to provide word processing services to facilitate the production of complex documents/materials; coordinating, organizing and planning meetings/events; financial accounting responsibilities; performing cross-functional responsibilities, as required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned.
The incumbent will build relationships with individuals at various levels across the medical community; act as liaison with various groups of stakeholders; assist in the preparation of annual reports; co-ordinate activities associated with the inpatient programs within the division; provide administrative assistance with all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of the division.
University Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a health research related and/or educational environment
Demonstrated proficiency in program administration.
Experience in event planning and meeting coordination.
Previous financial experience an asset.
Knowledge of the government funding mechanisms, rules and regulations an asset.
Advanced computer skills with superior knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
Ability to perform under pressure and work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
High level of interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards.
Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand.
