The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. This is a 9-month contract opportunity.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, the Benefits Administrator supports the administration and delivery of associate group benefits plans by ensuring accurate enrolment, eligibility tracking, and communication with associates and insurance providers. This role plays a key part in maintaining benefits data integrity and providing timely, professional assistance to associates regarding group benefits-related inquiries. This role may also provide year-end support in merit and bonus plan administration and processes.
The Benefits Administrator helps associates when requesting benefits documentation and assistance. Responsible with keeping track of data, communicating and monitoring eligibility.

Enroll associates in applicable benefit plans in accordance with eligibility rules and waiting periods.
Verify and monitor employee eligibility based on benefit group criteria, including scheduled hours, employment status, and length of service.
Run and review benefits eligibility reports to identify changes in employee status, ensuring benefit enrolments are updated accurately in HR systems.
Respond to associate inquiries via email regarding benefit eligibility, enrolment, premiums, and coverage issues in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare and distribute letters to associates requesting premium payments where applicable.
Provide official letters confirming benefit coverage to associates as requested.
Educate employees on basic benefits processes and direct complex inquiries to appropriate resources when needed.
Communicate with insurance providers to resolve issues related to enrolment, eligibility discrepancies, and incorrect information.
Liaise with internal People & Culture and Payroll teams to ensure accurate data flow and alignment across systems.
Generate routine and ad hoc reports related to benefit enrolment and eligibility.
May assist with the administration of year-end merit increase and bonus processes, including data preparation and validation.

Secondary school diploma required; certificate or post-secondary education in Human Resources, Payroll or a related field is an asset.
1–3 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, payroll, or a related function is an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
