The Opportunity
Enviro-Ex Contracting Ltd. is seeking both experienced Traffic Control Supervisors (TCS) and Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) to support traffic management operations on active construction sites throughout British Columbia.
These roles are essential to maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow through work zones while protecting workers, equipment, and the public. Travel and remote work may be required depending on project location.
Key Responsibilities
Traffic Control Operations
· Direct and control traffic safely through construction zones using stop/slow paddles and hand signals.
· Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades.
· Follow Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and site-specific traffic control requirements.
· Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control measures to maintain safety and efficiency.
Supervision & Coordination (TCS)
· Supervise Traffic Control Persons and coordinate daily traffic control activities.
· Implement and oversee Traffic Management Plans and ensure compliance with project requirements.
· Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews.
· Lead safety meetings and provide direction to traffic control crews.
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all company safety policies, WorkSafeBC regulations, and MOTT standards.
· Maintain awareness of site hazards, traffic, and equipment.
· Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
· Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Documentation & Reporting (TCS)
· Maintain daily reports, site documentation, and traffic control records.
· Ensure permits and approvals are in place where required.
Team Support
· Work closely with site crews to support safe and efficient operations.
· Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and the public.
· Assist with general site support tasks when required.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
· TCP: Previous traffic control or construction experience an asset.
· TCS: Minimum 3–5 years traffic control experience with supervisory experience.
· Experience on highway or heavy civil construction projects is an asset.
Licenses & Certifications
· Valid TCP certification (required for all applicants).
· Valid TCS certification (required for supervisory roles).
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License preferred (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset).
· First Aid certification (asset).
Skills
· Strong understanding of traffic control practices and safety requirements.
· Ability to read and follow Traffic Management Plans (TCS must interpret and implement).
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
