Join a small, tight-knit team that imports home, floral and gift products for the Canadian market. You'll own purchase orders, supplier quotes, pricing and inbound shipments — from first concept through to receiving.
About the role
You'll work directly with our Director of Product & Purchasing across the full product lifecycle: development, quoting, sampling, pricing, purchase orders, shipping and receiving. It's hands-on, with real ownership — you'll manage a live pipeline of products at every stage of production, working with suppliers around the world.
This is a strong fit if you like clean spreadsheets, accurate timelines and creative problem-solving, and want to see your work show up in our widely admired catalogues and showroom, and in stores all across the country.
What you'll do:
Purchasing & pricing
- Review supplier quotes with the lead purchaser and follow up to close gaps
- Build and maintain pricing spreadsheets in Excel for each supplier
- Enter and adjust purchase orders, keeping details and ETAs accurate
- Send sales contracts and other documentation to suppliers as needed
Product development & setup
- Contribute to product development meetings and maintain visual boards in Canva
- Track quotes, samples and in-development shipments against realistic timelines
- Set up new products in our database — details, categories and costing
- Make sure products reach the website and Catalogues with accurate copy, photos and categorization
Shipping, customs & receiving
- Send tagging and labelling requirements to factories
- Follow up on production and request images of finished goods before packing
- Coordinate co-loads across suppliers so everyone has clear information
- Prepare customs documentation and keep the daily shipment tracking sheet current
- Print receiving sheets, check container counts, flag discrepancies and receive goods into inventory
What you bring
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or a related role in a B2B or wholesale business
- Strong Excel skills — you're comfortable with lookups and you build a clean, readable sheet
- Clear, concise written communication — you can write an unambiguous email to a supplier who doesn't share your first language
- A working understanding of pricing and gross margin
- The ability to prioritize a heavy workload without dropping details
- Meticulous attention to detail — you check your work before it goes out
- A sense of urgency (global supply chains move slowly; speed is our advantage)
Nice to have: importing, freight or customs experience; ERP or inventory system experience; exposure to the home, floral or giftware categories.
What success looks like
Within your first year, you're the person who always knows the status of any product, quote or container. Deadlines don't slip, communication is fast, errors get caught early and rarely repeat, and the rest of the team knows they can rely on you. We invest in training and will support your growth.
