We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and energetic Supervised Behaviour Technician to provide one-to-one treatment for a family in Oakville. The position is available for an immediate start and will run over the summer, with the potential to continue as a school shadow position in the fall.
This position is supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst who is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and certified by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Services are grounded in trauma-informed, assent-based, and relationship-focused care.
Position Details

- Hours: 10–20 hours per week over the summer; Monday to Friday; daytime
- Shift Length: Minimum 3-hour shifts
- Rate: $30/hour
- Training: Paid training provided

Key Responsibilities
The Behaviour Technician will work directly with the child and family to support:
- Safe and meaningful participation in home and community activities
- Skill-building through play, routines, and natural learning opportunities
- Communication, flexibility, cooperation, and independence
- Implementation of individualized behaviour support strategies
- Data collection and communication with the supervising Behaviour Analyst
- Trauma-informed responses that prioritize dignity, connection, emotional safety, and meaningful choice
Much of the summer work will take place outdoors, including community-based and recreational activities.
Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Have experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or complex behavioural needs
- Be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of summer activities
- Be able to swim
- Have access to reliable transportation
- Be dependable, warm, patient, and flexible
- Be comfortable receiving coaching, feedback, and supervision
- Be available for 10–20 hours per week over the summer
- Be willing to complete paid training prior to independent work
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Behaviour Technician, Instructor Therapist, Educational Assistant, camp support worker, respite worker, or school shadow
- Coursework or training in psychology, behaviour analysis, child development, education, social work, or a related field
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care, assent-based practice, SBT, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or naturalistic skill-building
- Experience supporting children in community, camp, recreational, or school settings
