North Shore Academy is growing!
Who we are: A boutique high school established in 2021, we are located in the beautiful harbourside community of Vancouver's North Shore. Tailoring to the 'student-athlete', our flexible programming provides high-performance youth with the opportunity to take ownership of their learning through a hybrid delivery model of self-directed and traditional learning methods.
What we're looking for: If you have experience teaching and/or tutoring high school (grades 8-12) students, or have skills in math/science with a desire to gain experience in an education-based setting, we'd love to hear from you.
We are excited to add new members to our team, and are officially accepting applications for teaching assistant positions on a full-time, part-time, and/or casual basis beginning in September of 2026. Individuals with interest in athletics, outdoor recreation, and leadership considered an asset.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Ability to instruct & support on-line courses, assignments, assessments, and resources incorporating current pedagogical frameworks (i.e. inquiry, place-based, personalized).
- Ability to work with and provide support for students in one-on-one and group-based tutorials
- Ability to initiate, support, & lead instruction in primarily math/science courses
- Ability to utilize the following online tools: Brightspace (D2L), Teams, Canva, StudyForge
- Experience and commitment to working collaboratively as part of a teacher team advancing methods in curriculum integration and personalized learning.
- Experience in classroom/behaviour management
