Heavy Equipment Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Heavy Equipment Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the organization’s comprehensive repair and maintenance program, ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and operational. This role also involves managing the maintenance team, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and reporting of all maintenance activities to support operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and performance-manage all maintenance staff to ensure high-quality service.
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
- Assign daily work activities to staff to ensure task continuity and execution effectiveness is achieved. This includes establishing task milestones throughout the shift.
Maintenance Program Oversight:
- Oversee the development, coordination, and execution of the organization’s repair and maintenance program.
- Ensure maintenance personnel and services meet organizational objectives for equipment reliability and performance.
Planning & Scheduling:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Prioritize maintenance jobs and projects, coordinating resources with relevant departments and the Procurement Manager.
Recordkeeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Provide timely updates and reports on maintenance progress and equipment issues to management.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure maintenance services align with operational needs and priorities.
- Consult with team members and management to continually enhance maintenance strategies, costs, and services.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a maintenance management role
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment repair and maintenance procedures
- Experience in managing maintenance teams and programs
- Relevant certifications or technical qualifications (preferred)
- Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract
Other Responsibilities:
- Provide job estimates based on required skills and craft.
- Prepare total cost estimates for maintenance jobs, including labor, materials, and external services.
- Participate in major component replacement strategies as well as annual equipment financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Collaborate with operations departments to align work orders, downtime durations, and lead times.
Schedule:
- Rotation of 7 days on, followed by 7 days off, working 12 hours per day,
