As a Technology Consultant within the Service Reliability Engineering team, you will bring extensive IT and Cloud technical expertise to support our Reliability-by-Design flagship. Use your knowledge and experience to ensure we deliver the most reliable services to our customers by helping projects to deliver the most reliable designs.
Here's how
Complement our existing wireless and wireline technical skillset with your deep knowledge of IT and Cloud infrastructures
Perform reliability assessments of new infrastructure and service projects to ensure reliability is built in at the design stage - focus on IT architecture, "xAAS" solutions and code health
Collaborate with team mates to perform true end-to-end reliability assessments
Partner with project managers and devops teams to foster a culture of reliability across the organization
Identify and act upon reliability concerns with existing infrastructure and services
Communicate challenges and recommendations to different levels of the TELUS organization
Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications Technology, or equivalent specialty
7-10 years experience in designing and/or maintaining IT environments
At least 3 years experience with Google, Amazon or Microsoft cloud.
Experience participating in all aspects of large-scale distributed systems architecture projects through requirements, design, development, testing and implementation.
Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies and the converged infrastructure stack across server, storage, and networking
Solid understanding of open REST-based APIs and API Gateways
Solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
Solid knowledge of DevOps principles, toolkits and best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience communicating complex technical solutions to all types of audiences.
A problem-solver who is able to handle and resolve complex problems and effectively cope with ambiguity in fast-paced environments
Great-to-haves
Cloud certification
Experience with modern software development and automation & QA toolsets (Git, Ansible, chef, puppet, Robot Framework, SonarQube)
Experienced in lift and shift migrations of non-native Cloud Applications
