Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound, taping drywall seams, and preparing surfaces for finishing. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Prior experience in construction-related tasks such as painting, carpentry, or handyman work is highly valued. The Drywall Taper plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth, professional wall finishes that meet project specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams and corners with precision and consistency
- Sand and finish drywall surfaces to achieve a smooth, even appearance
- Prepare drywall surfaces by cleaning and priming as needed before taping and finishing
- Follow blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate application of materials
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry and painting teams to coordinate work flow
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with caulking, patching, or minor repairs as required during project progress
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements
Skills
- Experience in construction painting, carpentry, or handyman tasks is preferred
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Proficiency in caulking, taping, mudding, and sanding drywall surfaces
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as sanding and taping for extended periods
