Job Overview
Foodland at Pape and Danforth is looking for a part-time person (could become full-time) to assist in our produce department.The job would consist of producing a variety of fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, lemonade, assisting with the packaging of a variety of salads, vegetable trays, fruits, etc. Must have basic knife skills and 1 -2 years experience in food production is an asset. Hours are 8 - 4 for 3-4 days per week. Rate starting at $19/hr with benefits after 3 months
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh produce by washing, peeling, slicing, and packaging as needed for daily service
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking tasks in accordance with established recipes and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department and kitchen work areas
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain food safety standards
- Support food service operations by efficiently serving customers and managing food presentation
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of supply needs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation, serving, or kitchen environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking, or working in a restaurant or food industry setting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
