Project/Program Overview:
General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is seeking a Junior System Engineering Analyst, to join our inclusive team. This Engineering opportunity is based in Calgary, AB, Canada and will include a combination of working remotely and onsite. We have a number of measures in place for onsite working – our top priority remains the health and safety of our colleagues.
Job Description:
As a Junior System Engineering Analyst you will design new system capabilities requested by the customer. You will work closely with the customer, product teams and engineers from the Mobile Domain as well as other domains and Agile Release Trains to ensure the proper design is captured and documented. You will also:
Provide system and product level design and support for the Mobile Domain within LCSS.
Document system and subsystem requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documents and use cases.
Manage System Problem Reports (SPRs) and Observations by providing proper upfront analysis and input to support bug fixes as well as seeing the proper close out of each SPR.
Interface with GDMS-C systems engineers, supporting product development teams and system integration teams as well as external subcontractors.
Liaise with our customer personnel, in particular with designated technical OPIs, to ensure a coordinated approach to the production, review and delivery of engineering artifacts.
Participate in internal collaboration meetings
Basic Qualifications:
Essential Skils:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent related technical degree
Eligibility for Professional Engineering status preferred.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn.
System engineering/business analyst experience or system integration experience preferred. (Internships & co-op considered)
Familiarity with Enterprise Architect or other UML/SysML modeling tools preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Windows and its system administration and support is preferred.
Interest in emerging technologies and information management
Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Assets to have but not required:
Familiarity with Canadian Land Forces Doctrine and Operational Scenarios is an asset.
Experience in the development of Land Tactical Systems is an asset.
SW development experience an asset.
Familiarity with PC HW is an asset.
Familiarity with Linux is an asset.
Familiarity with networking protocols is an asset.
