Position Overview
WSG Energy Services is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to provide, site-based HSE support for projects in Kitimat, BC. This role will focus on hands-on safety leadership and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an active industrial environment and engaging daily with supervisors, contractors, and crews.
Priority will be given to local candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site HSE support for all phases of the line cleaning scope
- Ensure compliance with WSG Energy Services, client site, and regulatory HSE requirements
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and pre-job safety meetings
- Identify hazards and verify effective controls are in place
- Complete daily field inspections, observations, and safety monitoring
- Support hazard assessments (FLHAs / JHAs) and safe work procedures
- Participate in incident reporting and investigations as required
- Act as a liaison between site supervision and HSE management
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation and reports in line with client and company expectations
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- 2–3+ years of experience in an HSE Advisor role within industrial or construction settings
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and industrial safety standards
- Experience on maintenance, shutdown, or industrial cleaning projects is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a field-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced project environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, reporting tools)
Working Conditions
- Site-based role
- Scheduled Monday–Friday 8 hours per day
- Occasional overtime may be required depending on project needs
- PPE required at all times while on site
