DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in UHN/MSH main ultrasound departments and/or Emergency Departments as required, including midnight and call shifts.
Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
Participate in teaching, educational, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a recognized post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent
Registered with the CMRITO
Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) and Abdomen (AB) and/or Active membership/registration with Sonography Canada
Demonstrated maintenance of CME credits
Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent hand eye co-ordination
Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Effective body language and people management skills with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity when dealing with any patient contact situation
Ability to multi-task and work effectively as a team member
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
