Role Summary:
We are excited to announce the opening of our first IT position: Information Technology Specialist. This role is crucial in designing and developing a secure IT infrastructure to support our business growth. As the Information Technology Specialist, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure our IT systems are fortified against cyber threats and resilient enough to adapt to evolving technological needs. Your contributions will help create a secure and resilient IT environment, fostering a foundation for the company’s technological advancements.
Your strong technical knowledge in IT infrastructure design, system administration, and cybersecurity will be essential in implementing and maintaining effective IT solutions. Additionally, your ability to communicate effectively, document processes, and manage complex tasks will ensure smooth operations and successful project execution.
The successful candidate will be an independent problem solver with a proactive approach, demonstrating integrity and professionalism in all tasks. With excellent organizational and time-management skills, you will handle multiple priorities efficiently. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills, you will build strong working relationships with various departments and stakeholders. This role operates on a full-time, in-office basis from Monday to Friday.
What you will do
- Design and develop a robust, scalable IT infrastructure to support business operations.
- Fortify IT systems against cyber threats, ensuring security and resilience.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand and address their IT needs.
- Implement and maintain security measures and protocols to safeguard company data.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits.
- Create and regularly review IT policies to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to employees on IT systems and security practices.
- Lead the integration of new technologies to enhance business operations.
- Oversee the integration of new technology into existing systems to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
- Monitor and manage IT systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Create and lead a HelpDesk program for IT-related issues.
- Assist in the day-to-day troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networking problems
- Review and support operational projects involving new technology for business development (e.g., vehicle cameras, client technology, drones).
- Oversee Hardware and Software vendor management
- Oversee the management of IT-related office supplies and equipment, including computers, keyboards, and other peripherals, ensuring efficient onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and departing employees.
- Assist with sourcing, organizing, and tracking all IT assets to maintain an accurate inventory and support office operations.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a similar role supporting various information technology functions.
- Effective communication, documentation, and diplomacy skills when working with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Ability to write programming instructions and syntax, using structured programming techniques
- Previous experience with Workforce Management Security Applications (e.g., Tracktik) and recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are considered assets.
- Solid understanding of internet technologies, networking, DNS, mail distribution, VPN, and DHCP.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture, networking, identity security, and storage.
- Experience with system and application upgrades, patch management, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
- Good understanding of network components and configuration of end-user devices.
- Capacity for multitasking with the ability to set priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas to non-technical audiences in both written and verbal formats.
