POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Cutting:
- Can safely run the core cutters in a relief role and can cut used cores into a reusable size according to the Shift Supervisor.
- Review schedules on PC in work area.
- Determine what cores need to be cut based on future job schedule.
- Record all information using Excel and MES schedules and be able to send information via e-mail to the Shift Supervisor and Manager if required.
Core Recycling:
- Take all pre-used cores and cut into reusable sizes, minimal scrap to the bin.
- Work in conjunction with employee’s core cutting to schedule core cuts from pre-used cores.
Stretch Wrapping Stand Alone Packaging Unit:
- Replace all consumables for Stand alone packaging and AP1 &2. Ability to run Stand alone packaging unit.
- Ensure all packaging equipment is used in a safe and effective manner when required on re-wrapping.
- Ensure all paperwork and line reporting is completed correctly and updating core cutting schedules as needed.
- Operate forklift equipment including loading the pallet magazine and offloading finished goods required, employee must be able to load and unload trucks including finished goods and resins.
- Maintain housekeeping at a level as outlined by the Company.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
- Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company.
- Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpak’s TQI program
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Previous related work experience preferred.
- Good aptitude for machines.
- Experience with hand tools, including tape measures.
- Ability to take instruction and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good mathematical skills and ability.
