Student, Operational Excellence Team (Fall 2019)

The Operational Excellence team (OE) has a full-time opportunity for an energetic results-focused student.

The team’s mandate is to help EDC implement and improve its use of


Management Systems for the purpose of improving team engagement and performance, building greater resilience, and driving operational excellence across the organization.


Support the team with Process and Value stream mapping

Support the delivery of Lean and Operational Excellence training

Deliver on key projects during your term

Support team members in delivering coaching, facilitation and training requests

Support the development and documentation of team standards


Ideal Candidate

Student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related degree. Recent graduates within one year of graduation will also be considered.

Knowledge of Lean principles and/or SixSigma

Understanding of project management and execution

Ability to coach, mentor, tutor

Advanced Excel and

PowerPoint skills

Experience using and building SharePoint Sites

Experience supporting and collaborating with a variety of roles in an organization (From Individual Contributors to leaders and senior leaders)

Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for customer experience

Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to present information in a concise and impactful manner

Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
