Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Carpenter. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with a wide range of tools and techniques. This role involves supervising teams ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality work across multiple trades including carpentry, roofing, and more.
Duties
- Supervise one to two other employees on construction sites
- Read and interpret blueprints, and construction drawings to guide project execution
- Coordinate with team members on tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, siding, roofing, tile laying, and flooring installation
- Assist with construction estimating and material procurement to ensure project efficiency
- Train, oversee and mentor junior team members
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction trades including carpentry, roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, siding installation
- Proficiency in blueprint reading
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding systems, and heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent leadership abilities with proven experience managing teams in fast-paced settings
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements
We’re looking for a skilled Lead Carpenter who takes pride in their work. This position involves supervising a small team of 1–2 crew members, with the opportunity to grow into running your own crew alongside another employee. You’ll be expected to lead by example on site, maintain high standards of craftsmanship, and keep projects moving efficiently.
Strong communication is essential, this role requires daily coordination with the owner (also an active carpenter) to align on project goals, timelines, and problem-solving.
