Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and maintain proper storage practices
- Oversee food presentation to ensure visual appeal and consistency
- Enforce food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Lead team management efforts, including training new staff and fostering a positive work environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Serve as a role model for professional conduct and hospitality standards during service hours
- Ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high-quality standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or as a head chef with supervising responsibilities
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety
- Extensive knowledge of the food industry, including current culinary trends and hospitality practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Excellent understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures
- Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
