Purpose:
Responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating domestic and international academic records according to pre-established guidelines and Faculty (and Senate-approved) regulations to determine the quantity of transfer credit, individuals will receive for recognized studies completed at external institutions. Work with the Transition Team and communicates decision to students and ensure records are up to date.
Education:
High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years university level education or equivalent related post-secondary education and experience (e.g.1 - 2 years college level education with one year demonstrated academic support experience in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below, or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years' recent (within the last 5 years) transferable analytical experience performing transfer credit assessment for the purpose of decision making (e.g. assessment of applications/transcripts/records). and applying regulatory guidelines to determine a course of action/advising/counselling and answering detailed enquiries in a student service or comparable client service oriented operation, preferably in a university environment Familiarity with regulations, policies and procedures relating to the education sector an asset. Experience working with educational credentials - both domestic and international preferred.
