Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Insulation Technician specializing in Blow-in, Spray Foam, and related insulation applications. This role involves installing high-quality insulation materials to improve energy efficiency and comfort in residential and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction processes, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools, with a focus on safety and precision.
Duties
- Assessing job sites, including attic or wall cavity conditions, access points, and ventilation requirements
- Setting up and operating insulation blowing equipment
- Installing insulation to specified depth, coverage, and R-value requirements
- Ensuring even distribution of insulation and proper air sealing where applicable
- Monitoring material usage and minimizing waste
- Maintaining equipment in safe working condition
- Supervising general labourers and assigning tasks
- Ensuring all work meets building codes, manufacturer guidelines, and project specifications
- Completing final inspections and confirming job quality before leaving site
- Use hand tools and caulking equipment to secure insulation in place effectively
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure insulation is airtight and energy-efficient
- Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently during installation processes
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope
Requirements
- Prior experience with blow-in insulation, spray foam application, or related construction work preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools, caulking guns, and other installation equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and technical instructions accurately
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform manual labor for extended periods
- Valid <PERSON> license or relevant certification is a plus
- Clean Drivers abstract required.
