Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations, as you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance on equipment such as wheel loaders, forklifts, conveyors and other heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment and industrial machinery such as forklifts, wheel loaders as well as other mobile equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
- Perform in accordance with a preventative maintenance program, verification, disassembly, adjustment, and overhauls to maintain mobile equipment
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems within the machinery.
- Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are met during all repair processes.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed for repairs or moving equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in repairing industrial equipment in a shop environment.
- Red Seal certification required
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- 7:00am to 3:00pm...Monday to Friday
