Are you a Boat enthusiast who loves fixing and discussing the latest and greatest equipment?
THE COVE is looking for a customer-focused and technical-minded Marine Mechanic to join their servicing team in MacTier! As a Mechanic you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining customer's watercraft vehicles. Jobs may involve tune ups, oil changes up to engine rebuilds on Sea Doo, Yamaha, Mercury, and Rotax engines.
The main responsibilities and tasks of this role will include:
· Diagnose, inspect and test PWCs, outboard/inboard motors, jet drive, boats and other marine equipment (2 and 4 stroke)
· Build, PDI & repair PWCs, outboard/inboard motors, jet drive, boats and other marine equipment (2 and 4 stroke)
· Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures timely and effective of any problems identified during inspection.
· Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
· Communicate effectively with the parts team and service writers to ensure repairs are carried out in accordance to customer wishes and department policies.
· Estimates time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts.
· Document inspections, test results and work performed or to be performed as well as hours worked on customer work orders.
· Mount motors to boats and operate boats at various speeds on waterways to conduct operational tests.
· Ability to work on snowmobile, ATV and other recreational vehicles. (Asset)
· Maintain an efficient and tidy work area.
Requirements and experiences
- Candidates MUST have a deep interest and passion for riding and understanding of Marine, outboards, boats and PWCs.
- Journeyman Marine Mechanic or experience working as a Marine Mechanic or Small Motors Mechanic is a MUST.
- BRP/Yamaha / Mercury Marine Training course would be an asset.
- Clean Driver’s License and Boat license is a MUST.
- Mechanic Apprentices are welcome to apply! Candidates must be mechanically inclined; training program is available.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Work environment involves occupational hazards associated with working in a garage.
- Standing/Walking for periods of up to 10 hours.
- Lifting and/or carrying of parts and other merchandise, as required, on a regular basis.
Benefits and other information
Full Time Permanent Position
Site Based Role – MacTier, ON.
Monday to Friday Day Shift; Occasional Saturdays.
Annual base salary, negotiable based on experience.
