PLUMBER - TEMPORARY
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire a Temporary Plumber to work throughout the District on projects. The Plumber is responsible for maintaining, installing, repairing and testing a variety of plumbing equipment and systems to ensure a safe and healthy environment in district buildings and facilities.
Applicants must have:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent

Trades Qualification (TQ) Certificate in Plumbing which includes a Cross-Connection Control Certificate and a Gasfitter's License (Class B)

Four years related work experience post-TQ
- Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
Applicants are expected to:

Have thorough knowledge of construction and construction safety practices

Possess the physical condition and health to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job (including climbing ladders/scaffolds, working in crawl/confined spaces, and lifting and carrying heavy materials/ objects)

Maintain good interpersonal skills and have good verbal and written communication skills
Applicants must be:

Knowledgeable of safety procedures and materials, methods and equipment related to plumbing
- A self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team
This position pays $47.45 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes dental, extended health benefits, paid sick time and vacation pay.
