Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Warehouse Lead is responsible for the day-to-day running of ShipSavvy's new Surrey, BC fulfillment location. As our first hire at this site, this person is the trusted hands-on operator on the floor — receiving incoming packages, processing and preparing customer shipments, getting orders out the door accurately and on time, and keeping the facility organized, safe, and running smoothly. They will coordinate closely with the on-site manager and the wider operations team, and as the location grows, this role is intended to grow into a Warehouse Supervisor position leading a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, inspect, and log incoming packages and freight
- Process, pack, and prepare customer shipments accurately and on schedule
- Generate shipping labels and update orders in the ShipSavvy portal
- Maintain accurate inventory and organized staging, storage, and floor areas
- Open and close the facility and act as a trusted keyholder
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack) safely
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
- Identify and flag operational issues and suggest improvements as the site scales
- Other duties as assigned
- Providing support to our customers, Fulfillment Operations, Business Operations and Customer Service departments
- Manage process and follow up of the carrier claims process
- Work closely with 3PL affiliates
- Prepare and present reports to show trends from Warehouse receiving to shipped with Carriers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or fulfillment operations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and run a floor without daily oversight
- Comfortable using computers and shipping/order-management software (training provided on our portal)
- Able to stand, move, and lift up to approximately 50 lbs throughout a shift
- Experience leading or training others, or an e-commerce fulfillment background, is an asset
