We are looking for Assistant Meat Managers to join our growing store teams! The Assistant Meat Manager will be responsible for supporting the Meat Manager in daily operations, including meat cutting, inventory management, and staff supervision. They ensure product quality and food safety compliance while helping to drive sales and implement business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Meat Cutting & Staff Training
- Assist the Meat Manager in performing various meat cutting tasks, including slicing, trimming, and portioning meat products to ensure they meet company quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure that all meat products are properly labeled, packaged, and stored in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Address customer concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues to the Meat Manager when necessary.
- Assist in training new staff on meat cutting techniques, safety procedures, and product knowledge.
- Oversee daily tasks performed by department staff, providing guidance to support an efficient workflow and high performance.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and assist in scheduling shifts.
Inventory Management & Sales Assistance
- Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory in computer systems to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Support product receiving processes, including verifying deliveries, checking product quality, and ensuring all items are stored properly upon arrival.
- Collaborate with the Meat Manager to develop business strategies to increase department sales.
- Assist in planning and executing weekly specials and seasonal offerings.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and adjust product offerings to meet changing customer demands.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of meat cutting experience, with experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control processes.
- Highly proficient in operating band saw and meat grinder machines for meat processing.
- A customer-oriented mindset with the ability to provide excellent service.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
- Possession of a valid Food Safe Certificate is strongly preferred.
