Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Mobile Crane Operator to operate a 55-ton Grove RT for a high-profile construction project in Trail, BC. This role primarily involves flying concrete forms and rebar.
While A-Ticketed operators are highly preferred, we will consider B-Ticketed operators who demonstrate exceptional skill, safety awareness, and relevant time in the seat. Prior to mobilization, candidates will complete a paid operator assessment at our Kelowna branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a 55-ton Grove RT crane to fly forms, rebar, and other materials on a busy, high-profile construction site.
- Setup & Safety: Execute proper crane setup, including outrigger placement, cribbing, and evaluating ground conditions to ensure crane stability.
- Rigging & Lift Planning: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of proper rigging practices, load weights, and standard hand/radio signaling.
- Compliance: Strictly follow all written procedures, WorkSafeBC regulations, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Maintenance: Complete daily pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance logs for the RT crane.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Red Seal Mobile or Valid BC CraneSafety A-Ticket (preferred) or B-Ticket (with proven experience).
- Experience: Demonstrated experience driving and operating Rough Terrain (RT) cranes on commercial or industrial job sites is preferred but RT training can be provided if necessary.
- Assessment: Must be able to travel to Kelowna for a paid operator competency assessment prior to starting the project in Trail.
- Attributes: Strong focus, clear communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with riggers and site supervisors under tight project timelines.
