The Company is a Food and Beverage Manufacturer, with a facility in Scarborough, Ontario Canada.
The Company produces a variety of cold pressed, juices, smoothies and dressings.
Position Summary
The accounting technician would be responsible for maintenance of a complete set of books and keep records of accounts. The accounting technician would be required to very using various procedures financial transactions and support the CFO as required.
In addition to supporting the finance group, the successful candidate would support other functional areas including the projects team and manufacturing.

Essential Duties
· Keep financial records and establish and maintain and balance various accounts using manual procedures and bookkeeping and ERP software
· Prepare and/or post journal entries and reconcile accounts, as required, prepare trial balance and maintain general ledgers.
- Manage accounts payable functions as well calculate amounts to be paid and prepare cheques for payroll, utility, tax and other vendor bills
· Preparation and verification of employee records and T4s.
- Manage the entire accounts receivable functions, reconciling invoices and statements as appropriate, follow up and obtain approvals, and liaising with customers on a regular basis.This would include maintenance of accounts receivable subledgers.
Preparation of credit applications
· Prepare product costing estimates for new products and maintain current costing working papers for existing product category using current market rates for ingredients.
· Preparation of regular and ad hoc statistical financial and accounting.
· Maintain and organize all accounting books and records both electronically and via hardcopy
· Support the Chief Financial Officer with information, analysis and reporting as appropriate and upon request.
· Backup other administrative functions as required.
Minimum Qualifications
· Accounting diploma from a post-secondary institution.
· Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions and duties.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with different approaches and calculating product costing.
· 2+ years high level experience in Accounting and Finance
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel and the functions therein, including pivot tables, formulas and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the food and beverage industry.
· Experience with ERPs such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite.
· Experience with accounting software packages such as QuickBooks.
