Job Summary
CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS \r\n\r\n• Backup Tools: Veritas NetBackup, Rubrik, Dell EMC Avamar, Veeam, and other backup solutions on Windows and non-Windows platforms.\r\n• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure (Backup and Disaster Recovery).\r\n\r\n\r\nROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\n• Manage and experience on Veritas and Cohesity backup tools\r\n• Manage and troubleshoot daily backup operations across environments, ensuring smooth and consistent data protection services.\r\n• Define and enforce policies and standards for NetBackup usage, managing all application infrastructure changes through change and configuration management.\r\n• Oversee capacity and resource management, addressing bottlenecks and proactively identifying areas for optimization and improvement.\r\n• Ensure adherence to quality standards for releases, and managed escalations to clients or third parties as necessary for incident resolution.\r\n• Performe root cause analysis for high-priority incidents (P1-P4) and implemented changes in collaboration with internal and client teams, following established incident, problem, and change management protocols.\r\n• Maintaine service performance standards, meeting service levels and quality expectations, and promptly escalated any risks or service-related issues.\r\n• Manage and troubleshot tape backup solutions, including tape libraries, tape encryption, and NDMP backup configurations.\r\n• NetBackup installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting across Windows, UNIX, and Solaris platforms, including Master Server, Media Server, and client levels.\r\n• Performe NetBackup catalog recovery and supported backup restores, addressing critical data recovery needs.\r\n• NetBackup installations upgrades on all levels (Master Server, Media Server and Clients). \r\n• Capacity planning and availability management, collaborating with clients and third parties to ensure resource alignment with operational needs.\r\n• Engaging with vendors and client engineering teams to address escalated issues, implement new solutions, and coordinate code upgrades.\r\n• Configure, monitor, and reporton the entire backup environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability.\r\n• Resolve high-priority (P1 and P2) incidents and mitigated performance issues within the backup environment.\r\n• Identify and proposed process improvements, presenting continuous improvement plans for client and management review.\r\n• Followed strict Change Management procedures for all infrastructure modifications, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements.\r\n\r\n

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead operations management by orchestrating Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec deployments, ensuring efficient backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes across complex enterprise environments.
2. Utilize EMC Data Domain systems to architect and optimize data deduplication and retention strategies, enhancing backup performance and storage efficiency.
3. Drive continuous service improvement by analyzing backup performance metrics and implementing automation or process enhancements using Symantec and EMC management tools.
4. Mentor and guide support teams in troubleshooting advanced issues related to Symantec backup technologies, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
5. Ensure strict adherence to client SLAs by monitoring backup job status, proactively resolving incidents, and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders on progress and escalations.
6. Evaluate and implement new Symantec and EMC product features or patches, recommending innovative solutions to strengthen data protection and operational resilience.
7. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backup policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
Skill Requirements
