Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team in our established Langford office. The ideal candidate will have experience in an optometric or medical office setting and possess knowledge of various office procedures and medical terminology.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Maintain electronic medical records
- Assist with billing, insurance claims, and processing payments
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers
- Manage front desk operations efficiently
-Pretesting of patients before their eye exams, as well as performing additional testing with patients such as Optomap and Visual Field.
Skills
- Proficiency in using office equipment and phone systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with electronic medical records is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
