Position Summary
The Registration Advisor is responsible for applying registration-related legislation, regulations, and policy to the development and delivery of entry-to-practice assessment models, workshops, materials, publications and presentations to ensure that pharmacist applicants and pharmacy technician applicants have transparent, objective, impartial and fair opportunities to demonstrate that they have met the OCP registration requirements.
What you’ll do at OCP

Review practice-based assessments completed by assessors to ensure documentation provides evidence of readiness for final registration

Determine whether practice assessment registration requirement has been successfully completed

Guide candidates who are unsuccessful at meeting OCP-administered assessment-related registration requirements through their development processes

Respond to registration-related questions from a variety of partners with respect to entry-to-practice competencies, legislation, regulations, and policies

Update entry-to-practice assessment model materials, communications and technology to ensure that they reflect current practice and assessment processes

Update and deliver assessor workshops and/or training to ensure that assessors have the knowledge and skills to assess their candidate’s competency within their appropriate scope of practice

Liaise with educational programs to support currency of curriculum content as it related to registration- related legislation

Manage Jurisprudence, Ethics, and Professionalism (JEP) exam development and maintenance by recruiting, training, evaluating, coordinating, and supporting JEP external groups

Oversee training and use of technology platform for exam item development by JEP external groups

Analyze current needs for JEP assessment for the purposes of directing and supporting the development of new exam items. Revise and finalize all exam items with the JEP external groups while ensuring that the exam is fair, valid and consistent with the established blueprint

Oversee JEP exam question banks and review and approve JEP exams, in both French and English

Assess preliminary findings from each JEP exam offering after completion, including a statistical exam performance report from a psychometrician, to make decisions about exam questions that may impact scores before exam results are finalized and communicated

Support the development and maintenance of learning modules, in collaboration with staff members from other teams. Assess requests for testing accommodations and provide required materials for accommodations, if needed

Research, prepare and deliver registration-related presentations to applicants and external partners

Support registrants moving from Part B to Part A of the College’s register

Review and apply registration-related policies to applicants, in conjunction with the registration regulations

Assume responsibility for projects as required or assigned

In consultation with the communications team, draft and update registration and entry-to-practice related website content, as assigned

Continually examine work processes and explore opportunities for improving efficiencies through technology, elimination or altering of work processes and make recommendations to the Lead.

What we’re looking for

Minimum 3 years practice experience in a patient care practice setting

Must have 2 years of related experience in a non-patient care practice setting (e.g., pharmacy education, pharmacy operations)

Experience working in collaboration with pharmacy professionals in an education or patient care practice setting

Fluency in French would be considered an asset
What experience we prefer

Active registration in Ontario as a pharmacy professional plus member in good standing with the College
