JOB DESCRIPTION:
At Dry Aged, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service. We are looking for an experienced butcher to join our dedicated team and contribute to our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Skillfully prepare, cut, and package/platter various meats, including beef, pork, poultry, seafood and lamb. Prepare specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausages, burgers).
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
· Assist customers with their meat selections and provide knowledgeable recommendations and other information (recipes, ingredients, cooking instructions).
· Prepare weekly orders, work with vendors directly. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and inventory management.
· Perform regular equipment maintenance and ensure tools are in proper working condition.
· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in meat preparation and safety.
· Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answer phone promptly and courteously.
· Maintain and monitor all products to make sure it meets Dry Aged quality standards.
· Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
· Mentor and support new staff.
· Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, in uniform and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
· Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
· Follow and comply, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
· Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
· Immediately report any issues, safety hazards and violations.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· JOB SKILLS:
· Proven experience as a butcher.
· Strong knowledge of various cuts of meat and preparation techniques.
· Excellent knife skills and familiarity with butchering tools and equipment.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
· Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
· Possess knowledge of world-renowned foods, recipes, and cooking techniques.
· Extensive knowledge of different cuts and cooking techniques of meat and seafood.
· Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
· Capable of accessing information about market conditions and communicating this information to customers.
· Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
· Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
· Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors.
· Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· 2 years butcher experience
· 2 years of retail experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· In an 8-9-hour work day: standing/walking.
· Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
· Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
· Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
· Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
· Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
· Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
