Job Summary
The Hungry Traveler Cafe is a new family-run cafe and eatery with a vision to bring the community together through nutritious food experience. We are a halal café and provide breakfast, lunch and brunch options as well as pastry and baked goods. We are looking for new team member who is passionate about local food and amazing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver them with care
- Answer questions about menu items and provide recommendations
- Prepare and serve coffee, lattes, and other espresso-based drinks
- Keep tables, counters, and dining areas clean and organized
- Assist with preparing beverages and light food items when needed
- Handle payments and operate the cash register responsibly
- Restock supplies such as cutlery, napkins, condiments, and beverages
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and on time
- Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to requests quickly and politely
- Support the team with daily tasks like sweeping, mopping, and sorting recycling/compost
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment
Experience
- Friendly, positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy environment
- Ability to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed
- Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
