Title: Bus Driver

Pay Grid: Salary Range 1 ($22.86 to $30.00 per hour)
Reporting to: Recreation Manager
Summary of Duties:
The Bus Driver is responsible for driving youth and community members to and from planned programs and activities. They help keep passengers safe, supervise during travel, and take care of basic bus maintenance and cleaning.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Drive Recreation/community buses to transport youth to and from programs and activities.
- Ensure that youth and community member are safe when boarding and leaving the bus, including crossing the street while the bus is stopped.
- Monitor and maintain control of youth behavior during travel to ensure safety.
- May drive adults on chartered trips.
- Daily/weekly scheduled maintenance of bus, and cleaning of bus.
- Transport community members in support of department and community activities using the Recreation vehicle, with oversight provided by the Recreation Team.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Must have a valid Class 4 B.C. driver’s license and a clean Driver’s Abstract,
- Must have 1 to 5 years of driving experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector.
