The Opportunity
Financial Controller
The Financial Controller role goes beyond traditional controllership. MTM is seeking a hands-on finance leader who can provide strategic financial insight, enforce cash‑flow discipline, partner cross‑functionally, and build a finance function capable of supporting rapid scale.
The Individual must have the following qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong cost accounting and inventory management expertise (standard costing, variance analysis).
- Experience with ERP systems in manufacturing (e.g., Sage ,D365, or similar).
- Solid financial planning & analysis skills (budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management).
- Strong internal controls, compliance, and audit experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams and working cross-functionally.
- Proven experience in business partnering and stakeholder management.
Brief Summary of the Positions' Primary Responsibilities
- Produce monthly financial reports, record journal entries, complete account reconciliations, and investigate budget-to-actual variances.
- Oversee the accuracy of the general ledger and related subledgers while monitoring inventory records and cash flow forecasts.
- Contribute to annual planning cycles by assisting with budget development, year-end files, audit support, and ongoing financial analysis.
- Prepare financial submissions for government bodies and help ensure remittances and reporting obligations are completed on time.
- Examine accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, verify approvals, and review payment runs for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to finance team members through training, workflow coordination, and performance support.
- Partner with leaders across departments to deliver financial information that supports operational decision-making and program needs.
Required Experience, Education and Qualifications
- Required: CPA Designation
- Required: *Minimum of 8 years of senior level finance experience.
- Required: A Valid Class 5F driver's license.
- Required: Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Required: Experience scaling finance teams and systems.
- Required: Strong cost accounting, project finance, and cash‑flow expertise.
*Preference will be given to candidates with more than the minimum years of experience, along with a manufacturing background.
