The Quality Control and Assurance Lead is responsible in ensuring quality mechanical trade workmanship. The successful candidate will posses a clear understanding of the full construction life cycle. Duties involve monitoring & training for best practise and procedures of trade specific tasks, assist in developing and implementing a structured mentorship program for field staff. This role reports to the VP of Operations as well as Project Managers.
This position requires frequent travel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate quality control activities throughout the construction process.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols aligned with project specifications.
- Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Perform basic quality control inspections of workmanship
- Establish structured mentorship/coaching program for field staff
- Coordinate with Project Managers on site requirements
- Prepare and maintain progress reports and documentation
- Help close out related project paperwork
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance on quality standards to team members.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Review, revise, develop as needed and implement controls
Qualifications
- Plumbing journeyman red seal endorsment
- Forklift (PME) certification is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of mentoring techniques, principles and practices
- Proven experience in construction quality control or assurance roles.
- Effective communication skills
- Willing and able to accept direction and work independently
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Extensive construction experience with knowledge of building processes.
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and codes.
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
