We are looking for: Material Testing Field Trainee
Do you enjoy hands-on, outdoor work where you can see the impact of your efforts? Are you interested in starting a career in material testing for civil construction?
As a Material Testing Field Trainee, you will learn to perform field and laboratory testing alongside experienced technicians, gaining valuable skills and industry knowledge.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist with asphalt, concrete, and soil testing (training provided)
- Support compaction testing and sampling activities on job sites
- Help prepare, clean, and maintain testing equipment
- Travel to job sites and work outdoors in various conditions
- Assist with completing and submitting field reports
- Support laboratory tasks during slower field periods
- Learn to read basic drawings and understand testing locations
- Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma (post-secondary in Civil, Construction, or related field is an asset)
- No experience required – training will be provided
- 0–1 year of related experience is an asset
- Class 7N or 5 driver’s license is a must
- Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal/communication skills, and a solid work ethic, interested in career growth
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Good customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and knack for problem-solving with a willingness to learn
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic math skills
- Reliable and motivated, with a positive attitude
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors
