Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our growing culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and specialty baked goods in a fast-paced production kitchen. This role requires creativity, consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high food safety and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, tarts, breads, and desserts.
- Decorate and finish cakes, pastries, and plated desserts with precision and creativity.
- Follow recipes while maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal dessert creations.
- Measure, mix, proof, bake, and finish products according to production schedules.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards before packaging or service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages of ingredients or supplies.
- Properly store ingredients and finished products following FIFO rotation.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to meet production deadlines.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years pastry or bakery experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery, hotel, or catering environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, doughs, creams, fillings, chocolates, and dessert plating.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
