About the Role
V.I.L. Landscaping is looking for a talented part-time Landscape Designer to help create high-quality 2D and 3D landscape designs for residential projects ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
This is a great opportunity for someone with design experience, strong attention to detail, and a growth mindset. We are open to experienced designers, students currently studying landscape design, architecture, or a related field, and candidates working toward or already holding their BCIN.
The right person is creative, organized, eager to learn, and interested in personal and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Create professional 2D and 3D landscape designs for residential outdoor projects
- Prepare design concepts for projects such as patios, pools, outdoor kitchens, gardens, walkways, retaining walls, and full backyard transformations
- Work with the team to bring client ideas and project scopes into clear visual designs
- Revise designs based on feedback from the team and clients
- Help present designs in a clean, professional, and easy-to-understand format
- Stay organized with files, timelines, and project details
Qualifications
- Experience with landscape design, architectural design, or outdoor living design
- Ability to create high-level 2D and 3D renderings
- Experience with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Dynascape, Lumion, Realtime Landscaping, AutoCAD, or similar programs
- BCIN is preferred but not required
- Students currently enrolled in landscape design, architecture, or a related program are welcome to apply
- Strong eye for detail, layout, scale, and outdoor design flow
- Ability to take feedback and make revisions quickly
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage deadlines
- Positive attitude and strong growth mindset
- Interest in personal and professional development
Nice to Have
- Experience designing residential landscape projects between $25,000 and $200,000
- Knowledge of Ontario landscape construction practices
- Understanding of grading, drainage, hardscaping, planting plans, and outdoor structures
- Portfolio of previous 2D or 3D landscape design work
- BCIN or currently working toward BCIN
