Job Description

Albion Marine Solutions provides project management, engineering, consultancy, and conversion services to maritime and offshore industries. In order to support our growth strategy, Albion Marine Solutions is seeking to recruit a Project Manager to assist us in delivering this strategy.

The Project Manager will report to the Project Director and will require traveling within Canada, USA, Asia and Europe.

This job is ideally suitable for Technical Superintendent, senior sailing engineers with strong project management, conversion and dry docking background and good understanding of design processes, software and systems.

  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or adjacent field
  • Ability to lead complex projects and work with clients
  • Familiar with piping standards, design, and conversions
  • Familiar with structural standards, design, and conversions
  • Familiar with 3D scan application and design software
  • Familiar with standards and Class Rules applicable to piping and machinery
  • Dry dock project management experience
  • Ship retrofit experience
  • Technical specification writing skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of large team

Major Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Treat safety as the highest priority
  • Review vessel's drawings and machinery specification on a subject of legislation compliance
  • Prepare project plans and work specification for each individual vessel
  • Liaise with client to handle vessels specific issues related to project execution
  • Provide clarification to concerned parties on a detail of modifications related to specific vessels or project overall
  • Prepare a submission to Class for approval of vessels' specific modifications
  • Prepare Dry Dock Specification and work packages for each individual vessel
  • Monitor and manage as required the overall project scope within approved resources
  • Develop schedules and budget estimates
  • Communicate with company management to ensure that resources are available in accordance with approved project scope
  • Arrange updates of vessels' drawings on completion of modifications
  • Provide a daily update on project progress to Project Director
  • Inform Project Director immediately on any issues related to project implementation
  • File and keep track of all project documentation, related to each vessel and project overall
  • Carry out vessel inspection visits as required
  • Supervise conversion work during dry docking period as required
