Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Painter for a 4-week facility upgrade project at our client’s manufacturing plant in Brampton. The primary focus of this role is painting interior plant walls and high-ceiling structures. This position requires working comfortably at heights of up to 27 feet using company-provided scissor lifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare interior plant wall surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, or patching as required.
- Apply paint and protective coatings to walls, trims, and structural elements using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Safely operate a scissor lift to access and paint high ceilings and upper wall sections (up to 27 feet).
- Set up and maintain drop cloths, masking tape, and protective barriers to shield manufacturing equipment from overspray and drips.
- Adhere strictly to all plant safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and fall arrest systems.
- Clean and maintain painting tools, lifts, and work areas daily.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience as a commercial, industrial, or residential painter (facility or plant experience is a strong asset).
- Comfort with Heights: Must be 100% comfortable working on elevated platforms up to 27 feet high.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, reach overhead, and perform repetitive physical labour throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing and available to work overtime and/or weekends if required to meet project deadlines.
- Reliability: Strong punctuality and dependable transportation to our Brampton facility. [1, 2]
Preferred Certifications (Strong Assets)
- Valid Ontario Working at Heights certification.
- Certified Scissor Lift / Elevated Work Platform (EWP) operator ticket.
