Job Description:
Tuya Construction Ltd. In Chilliwack is currently looking for Class 1 Truck Drivers. The following are some of, but not limited to, the job requirements, abilities and understandings:
- A minimum of 1 year experience operating a Truck and Pony, End Dump
- Valid Class 1 Drivers License
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Able to operate in all weather conditions
- Ability to work as a team member and equally motivated to work independently
- Ability to exercise good judgement and show initiative
- Provide a clean drivers abstract
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment safely at all times
- Follow instructions of Foreman/Superintendant
- Conduct pre-shift / post-shift walk-around safety inspections
- Actively participate in toolbox meetings
- Log and report any maintenance concerns with the truck
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited to backing up procedures, use of spotters, signage, incident reporting
- Knowledge of gravel truck / semi truck operation, cleaning and maintenance requirements
Work Environment:
- Work outdoors in all seasons
- Work near traffic
- Exposure to loud noises
Compensation:
- Wage will be based on knowledge, skill, and experience
- Extended benefits after a 3 month period
