Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrician Journeyman/Apprentice (1st–4th year) to support industrial and commercial electrical projects. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Journeyperson Electrician, assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while completing apprenticeship training in accordance with Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training (AIT) requirements.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Work
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings
- Pull, terminate, and label conductors (BX, Teck, EMT, rigid, tray cable, etc.)
- Install panels, transformers, motor starters, VFDs, lighting systems, and control devices
- Installation of Emergency power back up generators
- Assist with conduit bending and installation (EMT, rigid, PVC)
- Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical systems under supervision
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Alberta Electrical Code, CSA standards, and site-specific safety rules
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and hazard assessments
- Properly use PPE and maintain a clean, safe worksite
- Assist with lockout/tagout procedures and job hazard analyses
Tools & Equipment
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment
- Maintain tools, materials, and work vehicles as required
Team & Professional Development
- Take direction from Journeypersons and Foremen
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Attend and complete all required apprenticeship schooling
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Qualifications & Requirements Mandatory
- Registered as a Journeyman (or eligible to register) as an Electrician Apprentice in Alberta
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in industrial environments
- Physically capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Strong commitment to safety and learning
Assets (Preferred)
- Previous industrial or commercial electrical experience
- Experience with Back up Generators
- CSTS, H2S Alive, First Aid, or site-specific safety tickets
- Experience working in plants, warehouses, or construction sites
- Basic understanding of PLCs, controls, or instrumentation
Work Conditions
- Outdoor and indoor work in all weather conditions
- Overtime, shift work, or travel may be required
- Industrial environments may include noise, dust, and heavy equipment

Pay: $20.00-$42.00 per hour
