Assistant Site Supervisor

We are currently seeking an Assistant Site Supervisor to join our construction team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about residential construction, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to develop into a future Site Supervisor or Construction Manager.
Position Summary
The Assistant Site Supervisor works closely with the Site Supervisor to support the day-to-day management of residential construction projects. You will help coordinate trades, monitor construction progress, maintain quality standards, and ensure homes are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
This is a hands-on field position that provides excellent exposure to all aspects of homebuilding and offers significant opportunities for professional growth within ACDH.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & Trade Coordination
- Assist the Site Supervisor with daily site operations and scheduling activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries
- Ensure trades are working according to schedule and project expectations
- Help maintain workflow between trades to minimize delays and conflicts
- Monitor site cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation
Quality Control
- Conduct regular site walks and inspections throughout construction
- Verify workmanship meets ACDH quality standards and building specifications
- Identify deficiencies and assist in coordinating corrective actions
- Review completed work prior to homeowner walkthroughs and possession dates
- Assist with deficiency tracking and follow-up
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements
- Monitor adherence to building codes, municipal requirements, and company standards
- Participate in site safety inspections and documentation
Project Support & Communication
- Maintain daily site logs, progress updates, and project documentation
- Communicate effectively with trades, suppliers, homeowners, and internal team members
- Assist in resolving site issues and escalating concerns when required
- Support the Site Supervisor in achieving construction schedules and project milestones
QualificationsRequired
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites
Preferred
- 1-3 years of residential construction experience
- Experience in carpentry or a residential trade
- Understanding of residential construction methods and building processes
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Knowledge of Alberta building codes and construction practices
