Job Summary
You will be responsible for delivering the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) computer and technology curriculum to high school students, focusing on both foundational technology skills and advanced university-preparation computer science
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess OSSD curriculum for Open and University-level courses, including: ICD2O, ICS3U / ICS4U, TAS1O / TAS2O, TEJ3M / TEJ4M.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate modern software engineering practices, algorithms, and digital citizenship.
- Evaluate student progress aligned with Ministry of Education standards and Growing Success guidelines.
- Bonus: Assist with extracurricular STEM enrichment, such as competitive robotics (VEX/FLL) or coding clubs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Education, or a related field.
- In good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) with qualifications in Computer Studies or Technological Education or teaching experiences in private high school setting.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages taught in the Ontario curriculum (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Familiarity with OSSD credit requirements, the new STEM/Tech Ed mandatory credits, and EQAO standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring youth.
