About MakerKids Academy
Many parents do not want to send their kids back to regular school in the fall. We are in the midst of what could potentially be the largest education disruption in our lifetime e.g. of how education gets delivered. MakerKids is creating a new all-virtual acrredited school. We are designing a new model of education, design it from the ground up based on the future skills we think kids need and what we think would help them learn best.
Our background: MakerKids (https://www.makerkids.com/) develops maker learning programs for kids, and runs camps and after-school programs on Coding, Robotics and Minecraft. We inspire kids to see their futures as inventors, entrepreneurs, and innovators. We provide amazing interest-driven STEM programs to help kids move from being consumers to creators. We've been featured in major media such as Wired, CTV and the Globe and Mail, and have spoken at SXSW, Maker Faire, MakerCon, and more.
Our Academy is gaining steam. Demand for our Academy is growing fast and that means we need to find and train awesome teachers to serve an enthusiastic and growing fan base. Your job will be to lead a class with MakerKids' virtual school - teaching kids the skills of the future via school curriculum. Did we mention having fun while working? We like doing stuff together online or in-person (when safe) – virtual coffees, improv classes, escape rooms, and other staff socials
And we also take our work seriously, create space for each other's opinions and perspectives, and pursuing success together
