Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Tax Analyst will report to the Manager, Taxation. The successful candidate will be responsible for tax compliance, tax provisions, tax forecasting and other tax related responsibilities within Inter Pipeline.
Qualifications:
CPA designation is an asset
Completion or enrollment in the CPA in depth tax course
Experience
2 – 4 years of applicable experience in a tax advisory and tax compliance role
Strong understanding of the preparation of Financial Statements
Experience in dealing with complex contracts
Skills :
Advanced MS Office skills
Working knowledge of SAP is an asset
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work independently manage multiple deadlines
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Ensure Inter Pipeline’s compliance with the Canadian Income Tax Act by following the appropriate procedures and practices. This includes, but is not limited to, the preparation and filing of the Federal and provincial tax returns for Inter Pipeline and all its subsidiaries
Prepare required monthly and quarterly accounting entries for current and deferred income tax provisions
Prepare monthly tax instalment remittances
Assist with of all dealings with Canadian taxation authorities
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisers
Research and advise the Manager, Taxation with regards to various tax accounting and tax compliance matters
Assist in updating the income tax forecast on a regular basis for the Corporate Planning group
Assist in responding to the investor relations group with tax related matters
Maintain up to date records regarding Inter Pipeline’s adjusted cost base of its assets and liabilities
Ad-hoc internal tax reporting (management reports, queries, etc.) for all levels of staff throughout Inter Pipeline
Work with a focus to analyze financial results for tax related reasonability, recommend efficiencies, and provide tax advice
Thinking analytically to evaluate complex business and tax issues

Full time, Monday – Friday
